What is HTML5?

You may or may not have heard of HTML5 , but in a nutshell, it is the emerging standard in web design. HTML5, and its major component, CSS3 - allows for some amazing display "tricks" like animation, fading slide shows, drop shadows, cool fonts and and three-dimensional backgrounds. HTML5 is the "eye candy" everyone has been craving, without the huge overhead and mobile unfriendliness of FLASH.

All websites we develop will run on mobile devices - even those with video. We do not think Flash will be around much longer, so we stopped investing in it long ago. HTML5 is the ideal platform to build a website on because it is highly search engine compatible. There are many structures built into HTML5 that favor SEO unlike Flash or some of the other older HTML based code. As the standard emerges, so will more features and cool things. If your site is developed in HTML5, you won't have to worry about it not working on browsers a few years from now - that is the beauty of a standard.
